Samsung is showcasing some exciting new features at MWC 2026, including enhanced Privacy Display options and a brighter panel. The highlight of the booth is the 'Flex Magic Pixel' technology powering the Galaxy S26 Ultra's Privacy Display. This technology allows Samsung to switch partial sections of the display to privacy mode, which is currently used for incoming notifications. The two new partial coverage options shown at MWC are the bottom half of the display (covering PIN, pattern, etc.) and the edge panel. While the bottom half method might be useful for secure apps, the edge panel option seems less practical. Samsung is working on making these features available, but they are not yet ready for commercialization. Additionally, Samsung is showcasing other display concepts, such as LEAD 2.0, which can have thinner bezels and brighter panels, and a slidable phone concept previously shown at CES in 2025. The company is also demonstrating the usefulness of Qi2 magnets by mounting Galaxy S26 Ultras on magnetic mounts with magnetic stickers on the back. Overall, Samsung is pushing the boundaries of display technology and offering new ways to enhance user privacy and convenience.
