Avery Koenen is on fire! The Bison's junior forward has just been crowned the Summit League Kwik Star Peak Performer of the Week for the second time this season! This is a testament to her incredible performance.
Last week, Koenen led the Bison to their sixth consecutive victory, dominating at Eastern Illinois. The star player from Montevideo, Minnesota, achieved a game-high 22 points, and a career-best 16 rebounds, marking her fourth consecutive double-double. But that's not all! She also contributed with four steals, three assists, and one block. Talk about an all-around performance!
And this is the part most people miss... Koenen's stats are turning heads nationally. She currently holds a spot in the top 15 in the nation for field goal percentage (ranking 3rd with 69.1%), double-doubles (ranking 8th with 6), and defensive rebounds per game (ranking 15th with 7.8). Truly impressive!
But here's where it gets controversial... Do you think Koenen's performance is sustainable throughout the season? What do you think about her chances of earning even more accolades? The Bison are gearing up to face Pepperdine this Tuesday afternoon at 4:00 p.m. CT. Will you be watching? Let me know your thoughts!
